"Zauber Märchen"

Ein Buch, das der Kraken grad liest, heißt "Zauber Märchen". Schon ulkig genug, doch erfuhr ich nun vom Lieblingsmärchen des achtarmigen Kollegen. Es heißt "Das singende, springende Löweneckerchen". Ich meinte zuerst, das gäbe es nicht und er rede bestimmt vom "singenden, klingenden Bäumchen". Nachdem ich aber gegoogelt hatte (oder, wie der Umweltschützer präferiert, ge-forestlet), fand ich doch tatsächlich dieses völlig wirre Märchen unter diesem Link.
Erstaunlicherweise (oder wie nicht anders zu erwarten) ist das Märchen von solch konfuser Natur, wie es nur ein Kraken lieben kann. Trotzdem eine schöne Geschichte und nette Abwechslung im Bibliotheksalltag.

Octodogs (Nein, es geht hier nicht um achtarmige Hunde!!!!)

These kitchen gadgets are fun for children and maybe adults alike. Called the Octodog, they can brighten up any kids’ meal or barbeque, making little Octodog-shaped hot dogs.

Take your hot dog, Frankfurter or Wiener, or whatever you want to call it and simply press it into the Octodog and press down and you have the curiously shaped little hotdogs seen on the right hand picture.

One thing worries me though. Do you do this after they are cooked or before; it’s not clear from the Octodog manufacturer’s website? I think you probably have to insert them when they are hot though, so be careful!! Another thing that concerns me is that our children will want to eat nothing but a diet of nothing but processed “sausage-like” material for a few weeks at least, so you may have to hide them away from time to time!

The Octodogs cost $15 each, but I think that’s a small price to pay for these cool looking gizmos, and I’m sure your kids will love them.

Ob diese großartige Buffet-Innovation wirklich Kinderaugen leuchten lässt, bleibt dahingestellt. Wohl eher könnte sie gewisse Lebewesen von besagten Fressarien fernhalten.
Besonders schön finde ich den Satz "Take your hot dog, Frankfurter or Wiener", ich weiß auch nicht genau, wieso. =) Vielleicht lassen sich ja auch andere längliche Gegenstände in Oktopusform bringen - der Fantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt!
Ich persönlich find den Shaper mit 15$ a bissl zu teuer.... aber was tut man nicht alles, um nur kein ordinäres Essen auf den Teller zu bringen. ;-)
